Random Tip #3

If you are near the age of 30 or over this tip is particularly for you. When children entice you to "SLIP and SLIDE" with them some tips should be followed. Primarily, regardless of how far back the get in the yard and run, charging the slip and slide and diving face first, DO NOT RUN.

Last weekend H and G convinced Chad to slip and slide with them. They would back far away and charge the slide full steam. Following suit, Chad did the same. Not noting that he is decades older, feet taller and pounds heavier than the little girls. He ran, dove and while the girls always stopped at the water-filled bumper at the end of the slide.....he did not. He sailed far over the bumper, airborne, landing at least 6 feet from the slide....in the dirt....face first.

In spite of how his body felt the girls have never been so impressed...cheering, applauding, bragging, shouting. The screamed, "Good job, Dad" "That was awesome" "Do it again!!!"

He did not. At least not like that. The rest of the time he sat down on the slide and scooted to the end. The only cheering was from himself.

He was their hero in that brave and entertaining moment. Glory has a price. So unless you are willing to pay it...heed this tip!
